October 5, 2015....We get to see conference next week:( but I am excited. I am doing good, ready for a transfer but also happy to still be in this area at the same time. Our investigator has trouble reading its hard for him but we are helping him hes a good kid and has really changed his life. I love the lord and just his love he has for everyone and the love he has for me.  I love the lord and I know he needs me so I know he has prepared a way for me and will help me the whole way.:) I love the quote "If you ask for god to help you, it means you trust his ability. If he doesn't help you yet, that means he trusts yours." . Its super pretty there, the water fall was huge. we went steep climbing up the other side and we where super high up and this Elder i was with is a tall kid and fell and started sliding down which probably could have killed him but this little branch saved him then I was able to grab him and pull him to safety haha! it was exciting

 

October 11, 2015....Ya I was really disappointed this week because conference down here was super noisy and hot and skipped a ton of talks! But I will take some time to print them and read them or reread them.. but saturday conference was pretty good and priesthood session i enjoyed both. I really loved Elder Bednar he is such a great guy honestly! anyways good week other than that not a lot of work got done because we where back and forth to are area and lucena.. i got to see some old friends tho from my past wards I served in so that was a blessing. October 18, 2015..Mom So cool story.. I started the challenge of the book of mormon reading and within 24 hours time I got to second nephi.. I don't know what it was but I couldn't stop reading I love the stories :) So I have seen quite a few filipino fights out here haha there kinda funny. there was a storm down here but all it was was strong winds. Manuel is acting shy around us but we love him no matter what. So the biggest news I am transferred to Batangas not sure the exact place there but i am excited and honestly sad to leave this area. My comps attitude is weird and I think its because are personalities arent the same but I try with him.. I am transferred so its okay. :) he looks good. I gave another talk this sunday and it went really well. My tagalog is alright but my english sucks haha. I want to get better at tagalog but I need to study a lot more but I can teach lessons and everything now :) Sending pics now Love Elder Herrin aka Moby Dick 

October 25, 2015....So my area is pretty freaking great, We had four baptisms this last saturday then on sunday I got to confirm one, I really felt the spirit telling what to say as I was standing there confirming him. Then everyone in my area says my taglaog is way good. but I don't see it quite yet. I have been listening to a ton of tagalog love songs and what not so its been pretty fun. So one of our investigators here got jumped by seven guys and he was in pretty awful shape but we had a really spiritual lesson with him and we talked about trials in our life. We had 3 other investigators attend church which was a huge miracle. I love the people in this area, People feed us every single day this is the most the members have fed us my whole mission. it doesn't feel like Halloween here its too hot haha. We play basketball every morning with the youth and of course we win because I am the most athletic and tallest on the court haha. ....So my new comp is my batch coming to the San pablo mission but I am senior so thats cool haha. Hes super nice kid hard working thats what I love most about him. He is from a place called Zambalas and is a pretty short kid but super cool. I need to work out down here its been too long but all we have is a little ten pound weight in our apartment haha. Look up the Song Bahala na thats my favorite song right now haha. I think there was more I was going to tell you but I forgot. I will send pics for you of the baptisms. Batangas is filled with rich people haha. Tell Katey shes almost a Grandma haha joke. September 2015

September 7th 2015...So my comp got transfer and I am staying in Mauban which I am happy about!:) I have heard my new comp is pretty cool so i am excited for that! glad to hear everythings going well... I am doing good and we did find teach the investigator and he said he feels something inside him so we are going to give him a baptismal goal date on saturday so hopefully that works out, I am excited for him:) Oh tell dad to look up that motivational video about a black guy in a class room, its so freaking good!:) Tell Lucas I say to watch it too and it will motivate him in school and if that doesn't tell him to look up the video of the guy talking about his mom I almost cried haha! September 14th 2015...cool story a guy walked in to church on saturday while we where doing service and he came up to me and said are you guys mormons and i said yes why? He then told me he watched a mormon movie and a song was stuck in his head and he asked if I could help him understand what it meant! i talked to him and the song said "Come Back" and I thought about the restoration and talked to him about it, it was a really cool experience and we ended up having a lot in common he told me he has depression and i told him it ran in my family and that some of my family members also had to take stuff for it, we talked a while and was really awesome we are going to teach him so I am really hoping he accepts the gospel! anyways we also have a baptismal goal date set for our other investigator october 17, so I am really excited for him and for the opportunity I have had to serve in mauban! :) anyways glad to hear about taylor and katey and tell them i wish them the best and can't wait to see pics!:) Tell Zack willes congrats for me and that I wish him all the best! tell everyone else I love them and am doing great! Mom you need to do family night, family scripture and family prayer! it might seem hard to do at the moment but I look back and am so happy to have the memories I have made and what i have learned from you guys, I just wish I would have spent more time with you in my younger years so please do hold all those and I promise you will look back and be super grateful! September 20, 2015....My comps name is Sadueste and he is filipino, are investigators are okay only one is progressing but I am excited for him he just needs to get more into the book of mormon.. but hes not the best at reading like its hard for him to read, thats okay we will help him tho and pray for him! :) I had what I think to be a star fish on my hand haha!.... oh I gave another talk on sunday about the blessings that come from living the law of chastity it went well everyone understood me even tho some of the words where in english! I even mentioned a quote "Modest is hottest." hahaha only a couple people laughed there... tough crowd! hahaah but I also in are zone meeting with pres shared the quote "when life gets too hard to stand kneel." He liked that quote and shared this with me "A man never stands taller than when he is on his knees." and I really liked that one! anyways I am almost done with the book of mormon, I finished Joseph Smith history and am working the pearl of great price... I will be done with that shortly and then I will either start new testament or doctorine covenants! thats one thing about my new comp is that he is really good with the bible! I want to get better at the bible too is really intresting reading the bible and I love the stories and just the different words and verses they have! There is also a new challenge that president gave us to read the book of mormon in like 9 months maybe less i don't remember but I am excited for that too! anyways love you all very much I will try and send pics later today, Love Elder Herrin aka Forest gump

  September 27th 2015....         I am doing pretty good out here. I am sad I missed it(taylor and kateys wedding) but grateful they made the right decision getting married in the temple. But that sounds awesome they are a cute couple and when I show pics of us to the filipino people they say we are such a cute family and we all our pogi aka handsome. Man I miss dancing at parties I wish I could bust some of my new moves I have learned from people here or just by myself haha. This girl here named Rosette the one I baptized is so funny at dancing she would show some of the YSA her moves and I just started laughing so hard haha.. her dancing is just random haha!  I am so proud of Taylor and miss him a ton tell him I love him and Anthony too and there wifes that I love them all am so glad they made the decision to get married in the temple :) investigators are coming a long, I havent worked out in a while.. both my comps are skinny and don't want to haha! so two days ago we went to this thing in lucena called family week and we where playing a game and a member said to me the zone leaders are watching you.. like we werent supposed to be playing and then told the zone leaders on us.. and then are president told the members that the Elder and sisters can play.. since we don't have families here the members should let us join there games and include us like family haha, I bet that guy felt pretty stupid. anyways my tagalog is a lot better but I still need to study a lot more. we are doing a 90 day book of mormon challenge and lets just say I need to catch up haha, but I am almost finished with the book of mormon and moses then I need to catch up in the new book of mormon reading challenge.. sorry if that didnt make sense haha. anyways love you mom and am doing well.. haven't died yet! August 3rd 2015... its super beautiful in my area but it rained way hard today, we went up for are pday today to a huge statue of Jesus and a noahs arc thing, it was pretty cool and super pretty but a lot hike up haha not really long but steep!

August 2nd 2015.. I am doing well we have a baptism coming up this august 8th so hopefully that works out, and then like 3 others this month!!! so I am excited and super glad, we have taught a lot of people this week and we got thanked by our zone leaders for working hard! anyways I have a lot of pics to send, the family that lost the baby are a lot better and are really helping us out and have really strengthened there faith!:) .. at Karines wedding did they play music and dance??? Oh funny story a member was with us and we where with that evil monkey haha and this duck bit the members leg so the member moved forward and the monkey grabbed the members hair and just pulled hahahaha it was so funny the member was like it hurt way bad hahaha I couldn't stop laughing cause the member got double teamed by two animals haha! 

 

August 16th 2015....So my week is awesome got the baptisms and that girl thats in the water with us is the one I got to baptize!! thats awesome about seattle and here in the philippines you get asked for money every single day, by kids and adults hahaha! I am doing great and love it here in mauban we have another baptism this coming week and hopefully we can set some more baptism dates for our new investigators we got 10 new investigators that said we could  come back and teach again, blessings are everywhere and I love it!:)

August 23rd 2015...Wow that sounds incredible! na ang tunog sobrang asig, nais kong ako ay naroon sa reception, I said that sounds cool, I wish I was there at the reception, miss na miss kita pero masaya ako nandito sa philippines ngyon, it means I missed you but also happy to be here in the philippines!:) you guys will have to send me pics of everything that sounds awesome and happy for them. We had a bday party last night with a member family their daughter just turned 18 and shes super cool her name is eunice and helps us a lot with our work so I bought her a birthday cake for her bday, I will send pics for you:) we got our baptism this week and it went good. .. anyways on some other news we have a new family of investigators and a new guy investigator who is willing to listen so I am excited:)Love Elder Herrin aka Tarzan.. remember when I was a little kid and I used to say I was Joseph Smith??

August 30th 2015...I am doing good, we have a new investigator I wouldn't expect, he came and asked us if we could teach him and I was shocked at first but was like of course when can we come back what time, just introduced myself and now we have a return appointment this friday!:) Oh another experience was this lady, I was waiting for this food called banana cue or something like that its a fried banana covered in like melted sugar its pretty freaking good, anyways i was just sitting there and she asked if I was mormon and I said ya, she talked about or asked a few questions like why are you called "Mormons" and I explained and showed her the book of mormon and gave it to her and we talked for a little bit and then I had to go my food was ready and so I gave her the book of mormon and said it was free and that she should read it, I hope I see her again and am able to talk to her but it was just a cool situation! anyways I am doing good, tired lately but glad my time is finally going down hill haha!:) love you I am going to check your other emails now, Love Elder Herrin
