Tristan's Testimony 4/2014

Well I could tell you a huge testimony and just tell you how much the lord has blessed me on this mission, but something I have learned is that sometimes the most powerful testimonys are the simplest! So I will quickly share that I know without a doubt this is the true church, that there is a God and he loves each and everyone of us! I know that because of the lord I am able to have a strong family in the church and because of his son Jesus Christ I can be forgiven of my sins and make it back to him! One of my favorite quotes that I heard from the conference is from President Dieter F. Uchtdorf its in 1 nephi and it simply states that it is AFTER all we do, that by gods grace we will be saved!

First Week in the MTC

Day 1- August 20th, 2014: Dear Family- The MTC is crazy, we immediately got started on language then teaching situations. I haven't cried yet, and everyone in my district is pretty chill. My companion is tongan and looks like Mike Tyson, (Elder Mataele) , he has a golden tooth and is huge, but not super tall. The food is good and the chocolate milk.
The day has gone by super slow but I've been told it will fly by soon (:. The beds are small... some people here are something else haha. Oh, I forgot I really like my companion though. Love you all and miss you already. Love- Elder Herrin p.s. The language is insane haha
Day 2-August 21st, 2014: ...day 2 is a lot better, not as boring and I love my district. I think I leave the MTC October 2nd.
Day 3-August 22nd 2014: I've seen a few people I know here, and the days move slow, but I've heard the weeks move fast. Thanks for the letters they really help.
Day 4- August 23rd 2014: Hey its my P day today! (Saturdays)  I love you guys and am doing well! I miss everyone like crazy and the MTC is hard but im getting through it! the spirit here is so strong and the language is coming along but its hard! I have been looking forward for today for so long these three days go by so slow but its okay because I know that im going to make it:) I hope all is well... I wrote you guys two letters that explain more my companions name is Elder Mataele he is huge and awesome!!!! but I hope you all are doing well and I miss my phone haha but so far I'm making it through MAHAL KITA- love you from elder Herrin   ... send letters
Day 6-August 25th 2014:  I've come far in the language with words at least. I have my good and bad days and they move slow.... the food here for the most part is great!
Prayer is getting me through the MTC, the rules here are so strict, but I've been trying to find ways around it! Getting your letter is a miracle, I love getting them! I gave my first blessing last night, It was amazingly cool.
The showers here have only burning hot or cold! My nick name with my district is "pretty boy" and my companions nick name is "tiny".
I forgot....some of the sisters here are hot!!! They should be married haha....
